7 Top Changes in New Maruti Swift Dzire 2017

New DZire of Maruti Suzuki was launched on May 16, 2017 in India. The sedan is based on the latest 5th generation HEARTECT platform, which is much stronger, lighter and more rigid. At the same time, special attention has been given to the safety features in this car.

Moreover, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and dual front airbags are given as standard. The company has started its booking at only Rs 11,000.  Know what is special in the new Swift Dzire of Maruti Suzuki :

1 Use of a new Light weight and fuel efficient platform

The Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire was first launch in the year 2008. In 2012, for the first time, cosmetic and exterior changes were made in the car, though this time, the company has made changes in its platform.

The new sedan is built on the 5th generation HEARTECT platform. Tensile steel has been used to make it, which will make it less weight and fuel efficient. The new petrol model is 85 kilograms and the diesel model is 105 kilograms less weight compared to the old model.      

2 More Boot Space and Comfortable Back Seats

The height of the new DZire is low, though it is much wider than the old model. To make the back seats comfortable, the company has increased its wheelbase, which has led to a slight increase in shoulder room and leg room.

The position of the back seat has shifted slightly, consequently the boot space has been increased to 376 liters. In the previous DZire, it was 320 liters. However, other cars of this segment such as Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor and Hyundai Accent have more boot space.

3 Major Changes Made to Rear of the Sedan

According to the company officials, most changes have been made in the back of the new DZire.  

The head lights, front grill and sharp body provide the car a muscular look. Third – generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire has a hexagonal front grill, projector headlamp, LED projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights (DRLs), new front bumper and fog lamps, which provide the sedan a premium look.

4 No Change in Engine output but mileage has increased

The new Dzire engines deliver increased mileage due to decrease in overall weight

The new DZire will come in a 1.2- liter VVT petrol engine and 1.3- liter DDis diesel engine. Auto Gear Shift Transmission is available in both variants – petrol and diesel above ‘V’ variants.

There is no change in the power output of the new DZire, although the mileage will increase on account of less weight. The company claims, it will be the most fuel efficient car of the country, as it will deliver a mileage 28.4 kmpl. 

5 Fox Wood Layer on Dash Board

New Maruti Dzire has used Fox Wood Layer for the first time

Major changes have been made in the interior of the new Dzire. It has a layer of Fox Wood Layer (bash and black colour) on its dash board and steering wheel. The lower part of the steering wheel is kept flat.

For the first time, Maruti has given such a look to any of its cars. Seats have been redesigned and slim. Apart from this, head rest have been kept longer compared to the old DZire.  

6 Dedicated Rear AC Vent

The new Dzire comes with a large touch screen information system. Besides, it has audio system, Apple Car Play, Android Auto and Mirror Link. Audio controls are given on the steering. Like the Hyundai Accent, it has got a dedicated AC vent and 12 volt power socket near the back seats.

In addition to these, the sedan comes packed with push button ignition, automatic climate control and power folding mirror. Its six out of eight variants have Auto Gear Shift technology.

7 New Dzire Gets Dual Airbags and ISOFIX
