1 Helmets available according to head Sizes

Wearing a helmet is essential when you ride a bike, because it protects your head and face during any untoward incident. In this case, when you buy a helmet, pay attention that it should be ISI certified. It is also important that it fits perfectly on your head.

In the market, helmets are available according to the size of your head like M, L, XL and so on. Before buying the helmet, keep in mind that your nose and chin should be at a safe distance from the helmet flap.

2 Helmets have type – full open / full face

Today, there are more than a dozen models of helmets are available in the market. In fact, helmet manufacturers companies are offering helmets according to the demand and convenience of the customers. Although, there are usually four types of helmets – full face, open face, open low full face and shorts.

In terms of safety, the full face helmet is the best, as it gives you the best protection for your head and face. Open face helmet does not protect the face. And, open low full face helmet can be raised or dropped as per need. The fourth, shorts helmet only gives little support to the head, and hence it is not recommended for safety.

During the ride in the monsoon, keep in mind that the helmets’ flaps are clean, they are not dusted, nor scratched. Due to scratching or dirty flaps, your visibility may decrease.

7 Pillion Riders also require Helmets

Despite the strict law in the country, pillion riders usually do not wear the helmet.  At the same time, in the cities where the helmet rules are mandatory for the rear passenger, there is the practice of wearing only an exotic or showy helmet.

Keep in mind that you are riding or sitting back, the possibilities of the head injuries are equal for both at the time of the accident. Whether you are rider or pillion rider, must wear a helmet. And, always use a good quality helmet.
