Amongst the entry level hatchbacks, Mazda 2 does finds its way in to the competition. With a sporty drive experience, great looks and very affordable price it does have some takers.
Features and trim levels

The Sport trim level has got 15 inch steel wheels with covers, steering mounted audio controls, leather covered steering wheel, rear roof spoiler, full power accessories, air conditioning, tilt steering wheel and a 4 speaker music system.
The Touring trim level is loaded with some more exciting features. It has got 15 inch alloy wheels, chrome exhaust tips, trip computer, 6 speaker music system, cruise control and upgraded red piping done cloth upholstery along with all the basic features of the Sport trim level.
A few added options in both the trim levels are Bluetooth and removable Garmin navigation system, front centre armrest and auto dimming rear view mirrors.
With very low prices one cannot expect such good interiors in a car as Mazda 2 has got. The design gives a very modern feel to the car. The front seats are quite comfortable and the space is roomy for tall individuals too, the telescoping steering wheel although is missed. The rear seats are not that roomy and feel cramped. The cargo capacity of 13.3 cubic feet is also not very good.
With the sportier built and mechanics of the car, the driving impression does a good job with ample amount of agility and sporty feel.

The fuel economy estimated by EPA comes to 29 mpg in city and 35 mpg on highways for the manual transmission and 27 mpg in city and 33 mpg on highways for the automatic transmission. The hatchback zooms from zero to sixty miles per hour in 10.3 seconds, which is quite at par with other hatchbacks in the market; however the automatic transmission slows down its pick up.
The safety features of the Mazda 2 include antilock brakes, side curtain airbags, front seat side airbags, traction control and stability control.
