The Japanese auto major Honda can launch the new Honda Brio facelift in the Indian car market by the end of 2016 or in the coming festive season. In fact, Indian Autos Blog has published pictures of the facelifted Honda Brio that made an appearance at the 2016 Indonesia Motor Show. The expected price of the hatchback ranges from Rs 4.50 lakh to Rs 7 lakh. The prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
The 2016 Honda Brio facelift will not have mechanical changes rather it will have all cosmetic upgrades. Under the hood, the 2016 Honda Brio facelift is powered by the same 1.2 litre, four cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine that generates a maximum power output of 88 PS and a peak torque of 109 Nm. The engine can be linked to a five speed manual transmission gearbox or five speed automatic transmission gearbox. The expected mileage of the hatchback can be around 16 – 19 kmpl.
On the outside, the 2016 Honda Brio facelift gets projector headlamps with LED DRLs, wider front bumper, black radiator grille, electrically adjustable ORVMs with turn indicators and wider fog, while at the rear the facelifted Brio remains unchanged.
On the inside, the 2016 Honda Brio facelift features single pod instrument cluster, steering wheel, a new dashboard with piano black trim material a new HVAC controls with digital display, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, USB, Aux-in and a 2-DIN entertainment system. On the safety front, it gets ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) and dual airbags.
The 2016 Honda Brio facelift faces competition from the Maruti Wagon-R, the Hyundai i10, the Chevrolet Beat, the Maruti Celerio and the Tata Tiago.
