The Honda’s most awaited compact sedan Honda Amaze has been launched in India .The car has 1200cc petrol engine and newly developed 1500cc diesel engine.The company claims 1.5 L diesel engine mileage to be 25.8 kmpl , 18 kmpl and 15.5 kmpl for manual and automatic transmission in petrol variants.This makes it the most affordable diesel car in the super compact segment.The diesel variant comes with a five-speed manual gearbox, the 1.2-litre 88bhp petrol variant gets options of both a five-speed manual and a five-speed automatic’ box.
Amaze has a lucrative price of 5.99 lakh (E class) for diesel car which is equivalent to the starting model of its expected rival Maruti Dzire.The car price ranges between Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 7.60 lakh for different variants.While its diesel class VX has the price of 7.60 lakh the automatic variant in petrol costs 7.50 lakh(VX).
The new Honda car engine generates 100 ps of power output which is much higher than Dzire. The company has specially developed 1.5 litre all aluminium diesel engine for Indian conditions.The Indian version of Honda Amaze has new alloy wheels, longer wheelbase,different grille and fog lamps.The car is available in six colours and four trim-levels.The nearest rival of this sub four metres sedan is Maruti Dzire with a monthly sale of 16,000 units along with Tata Manza, GM Sail and Toyota Etios.
