Honda Begins WR-V Crossover hatchback production in India

Honda has started the production of its latest hatchback crossover WR-V slated to be launch in first quarter of this year.In India whrere SUV’s and Crosover are currently the best selling segment Honda wanted to introduced hatchback based crossover type and WR-V fits this bill.

The Japanese automaker Honda had showcased its crossover car the WR-V in Brazil last year. Now, the production of this car has been started in India and it will be launched in March 2017. The new WR-V (Winsome Runabout Vehicle) is based on the the Jazz platform which is the company’s premium hatchback car. The production of the new Honda WR-V has been started at Honda’s Tapukara manufacturing facility in Rajasthan.

In terms of feature, the new Honda WR-V gets new headlamps, wide grille and chrome bar which enhance its attraction. Moreover, the car will have a higher ground clearance and new taillights at the rear.

As far as engine is concerned, the new Honda WR-V will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant will come equipped with a 1.2-litre engine while the diesel variant will come equipped with a 1.5-litre engine. The transmission options of the car would include a five speed manual gearbox, a six speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic gearbox.

The expected ex showroom price of the new Honda WR-V will be in the range of Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 9.5 lakh.
