Honda new crossover ‘WR-V’ with 188 mm of ground clearance launched in India

The renowned automobile company Honda has launched its new compact crossover car – the WR-V in India. The company first showcased this car at Brazilian Sao Paulo auto show. The price of base variant of the Honda WR-V is Rs 7.75 lakh while the top variant has been priced at Rs 9.99 lakh. Both prices are ex showroom, New Delhi.

Here it is worth- mentioning that this is the first product of Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL), which has been completely made in India. The company is manufacturing it at Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.  

Honda has launched this compact crossover car in both – petrol and diesel variants. The diesel variant is powered by a 1.5- litre, 4- cylinder, i-DTEC, DOHC engine that produces 100 bhp of power @ 3600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque @ 1750 rpm. On the other hand, its petrol variant comes equipped with a 1.2- litre, 4- cylinder, i-VTEC, SOHC engine which generates 89 bhp of power @ 6000 rpm and 110 Nm of torque @ 4,500 rpm.

In terms of dimension, it measures 3999 mm in length, 1734 mm in width and 1601 mm in height along with  a wheelbase of 2555 mm and 188 mm of ground clearance. As far as mileage is concerned, the petrol – powered Honda WR-V is capable of delivering a mileage of 17.5 kmpl, while the diesel – powered Honda WR-V returns a mileage of 25.5 kmpl.

On the safety front, the company has taken special care. The car gets anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD). At the same time, dual airbag has been given.

In addition to these, the Honda WR-V comes equipped with a 7-inch DGIPAD touchscreen infotainment system, one-touch sunroof, auto climate controls, satellite based navigation system and smartphone connectivity.
