Mahindra had introduced Scorpio with automatic gearbox about two years back in the year 2015. Now, the company has removed Scorpio automatic variant from its list.
Mahindra is preparing to launch facelift version of Scorpio :
As for automatic gearbox, it was available in Scorpio’s top variants – S10 2- wheel- drive and S-10 all- wheel- drive, but now, the company has removed it from the list. It is believed that the company is in the process of launching the facelift version of Scorpio quite soon.
The company can give the XUV500’s new 6- speed auto gearbox in the facelift version of Scorpio. This new facelift avatar of Scorpio can be introduced during the festival season by the end of this year.
What will be new features :
According to reports, the face lifted Scorpio can get a 2.2- liter, mHawk diesel engine of the existing model, but nonetheless its power will be 140 PS, the same as in the XUV500.
Currently, the existing Scorpio and the XUV500 – both have been provided 2.2- litre mHawk diesel engine, although both have different power and torque. In Scorpio, this engine produces 120 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque, whereas in XUV500 it generates 140 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque.
