According to recent reports , Maruti Suzuki Eeco van will get an upgrade soon.The company is going to make improvements as per new safety regulations set by the Government of India.
The company will , in-fact , make upgrades to its 9 models out of 15 including Eeco based on future safety norms.
In Eeco , Maruti Suzuki India Limited , is going to make bigger changes to make it pass the crash test.The van will also be given BS6 engine.
According to Feb 2018 sales figure , Maruti Eeco and Maruti Omni had 12,424 units sold.
Out of total monthly car sales by MSIL , Eeco and Omni forms a considerable chunk with around 9-10%.This is the reason Maruti has been compelled to introduce these upgrades.
The Eeco van’s current version has 1.2L MPFI 16-valve engine.This 4-cylinder engine produces 73BHP power with 101Nm torque.
The van’s engine comes with 5-speed manual transmission.There are 2 versions of Eeco available in India – 2 of petrol and 1of CNG.
While Maruti Eeco petrol has a mileage of 15 kmpl , its CNG delivers 20 km/g mileage.It comes in 2 types of seating – 5 Seater – Standard , 5 Seater – AC and 7-seater standard.The 7 seater Eeco does not come with AC.
It competes with Mahindra Supro in the segment.
