Country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India has launched the Ciaz hybrid, priced between RS 8.23 lakh and RS 10.17 lakh. The price is Ex-showroom, Delhi. The company has replaced all the diesel variants of the Ciaz with the new SHVS (=Smart Hybrid Vehicle from Suzuki) diesel hybrid system. According to the company, the hybrid Ciaz is the most fuel-efficient car in the country, which gives a mileage of 28 km/litre.
The vehicle uses an Integrated Starter Generator and an advanced high capacity battery that stores energy. This energy is stored in the high capacity battery, which assists during acceleration and enhanced fuel efficiency.
The Ciaz SHVS is powered by a 1.3 litre engine. The vehicle has several features like power assist, idle engine start-stop, brake energy regeneration and gear-shift indicator. While on the safety front, it offers dual air bags, ABS and electronic brake force distribution.
In fact, for this hybrid Ciaz, Maruti Suzuki did get a subsidy from Govt. of India. Here it is worth-mentioning that FAME India scheme has been launched by the government to promote eco-friendly vehicles.
