Although, no information has been received from Maruti about the facelift avatar of Wagon R, a graphic artist Adrians Ramadhani has created a sketch of the Suzuki Wagon R GS (Maruti Wagon R for Indonesia).
The biggest thing is that this sketch integrates Wagon R and Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield front fascia. In fact, the front fascia looks more aggressive and contemporary than the current Wagon R GS.
New Wagon R Will Be Launched In 2018 :
The existing Wagon R in India and Wagon R GS in Indonesia have been provided 1.0- liter, K10B DOHC 3- cylinder petrol engine. This engine will generate a power of 68 PS and 90 Nm of peak torque. The engine is equipped with 5- speed manual and 5- speed AGS (automated manual transmission).
The car fuel mileage is 20.51 kmpl. In India, the next-gen Wagon R will be launched with three- row variant. Its code name is Maruti YJC. It will be launched in the Indian market in 2018 along with other model launches by Maruti next year.
In Japan, Suzuki Wagon R is available in its sixth generation. Here, it was launched on February 4, 2017. Suzuki Wagon R and Suzuki Wagon R Stingray are built on the company’s lightweight ‘HEARTECT’ platform. And they have a smaller R06A 0.66- litre, three- cylinder petrol engine with a power of 52 PS, while the Stingray variant has a turbocharged engine with a power of 64 PS.
The engines of both models have been connected with a 2.3 kW mild hybrid motor, though this feature has not been provided in 0.66L IC engine.
