First launched in the year of 2010, the Mahindra Thar finally gets its first ever major upgrade, the Thar now cost RS. 8.3 lakh. The upgrade Thar is only available on the CRDe variant. In terms of design, Mahindra Thar takes heavy inspiration from the Jeep and looks rugged.
The new Thar comes with host of new changes that includes front and rear bumpers, clear lens headlamp, wheel arches, redesigned AC vents, new steering wheel & gear knob, black-beige dashboard, new windshield demister, sporty 3-pod instrument cluster, door trims and for added convenience, there is a new glove box and a new floor console with cup holders.
In order to offer enhanced off-road capabilities the company has introduced mechanical locking rear differential technology that engages automatically without driver’s intervention. The vehicle boasts of off-road features like the 44 degree approach angle and 27 degree departure angle, 4 wheel drive with high and low ratios powered by a 2.5 litre CRDe engine with a high ground clearance of 200mm. The vehicle is available in a BS4 variant with power steering as a standard fitment allowing for a comfortable drive. A wide range of genuine accessories and customization options are also available.
