Automobile manufacturer Nissan has made a huge cut in the price of its sedan car – the Nissan Sunny. The company has reduced the price of this car up to Rs. 2 lakh. Now, the base petrol model XE of the Nissan Sunny is priced at Rs. 6.99 lakh. While, the top – end diesel variant of the car has been priced at Rs. 8.99 lakh. All prices are ex- showroom, Delhi.
Nissan has clarified that local production is the reason behind reducing the price of this car. The company further added that the car has been manufactured in India under ‘Make in India’. The company is proud of it and hence reduced the cost of this car.
With the reduction in the price of the Nissan Sunny, the car has now come in the direct competition with the best – selling sedan cars. Now, the Nissan Sunny will compete directly with the Maruti Dzire, the Ford Figo Aspire and the Hyundai Xcent.
In the market, the Nissan Sunny is available in three petrol variants – XE, XL and XV. The top variant XV comes with automatic transmission. The car is also available in three diesel variants. The car has been introduced with new all – black interiors and exterior paint shade. The car is powered by the same 1.5- litre petrol and 1.5- litre K9K diesel engine, and there is no mechanical change in the car.
