Country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has launched its highly-awaited first crossover hatchback S-Cross. The vehicle is available with an introductory price of Rs 8.34 lakh. S-Cross will be sold exclusively from the company’s newly-established Nexa showrooms. In fact Nexa is the new chain of showrooms which has been established by the Maruti Suzuki India in order to sell its premium products. Presently the company has 35 Nexa dealership and plans to expand 100 such dealership across the country by the end of this year.
S Cross is available in diesel variant only with a option of a 1.3 and 1.6 litre diesel engine. Because the company has not made its petrol variant. The 1.3-litre DDiS200 diesel engine has a capacity of 1248cc, 4 cylinder with 5-speed manual transmission while the 1.6-litre DDiS320 diesel engine has a capacity of 1598cc, 4 cylinder with 6-speed manual transmission.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross has a number of features such as, LED day-time running lamps, projector headlamps, reverse-parking camera on the outside, spacious cabin, 5-seater, soft-touch dashboard, touch-screen system and so on. On the safety front, it has dual-front airbags with ABS and 4-wheel disc braker.
In point of fact, the S-Cross is positioned to take on Renault’s popular SUV Duster, Ford’s EcoSport, Hyundai’s newly-launched Creta and Mahindra’s Scorpio and XUV500.
