Tata’s Nano Megapixel hybrid car may be launched by the end of this year if speculations are to be believed.The company seems all set to launch this super mileage car after it was showcased in 81st International Motor Show in Geneva.
‘Nano Megapixel’ delivers 100 kmpl mileage and is a rear-engine propelled four-passenger car based on Tata Nano platform.The mystery of such high mileage in Tata Pixel lies in the concept called Extended-range electric vehicles.
The car is excellent for tight space parking environments due to zero turn feature enabling turn radius of just 2.6 meters.It has fuel efficient and low emission diesel engine reducing the overall carbon foot print.The external features with scissor doors , monographic roof, silver shaped window graphic and forward sweeping roof line.
The car uses both petrol and battery power for a run.The battery can be charged up to 80% in a span of 30 minutes and that too without standing.The car has petrol engine generator charges the 13 KW lithium ion battery while on the go.The generator consumes minimal fuel that helps mileage to increase.
Nano Megapixel hybrid car sports a technologically advanced 325cc engine which is not much powerful but that is also what makes it a fuel efficient Tata car.The engine of Tata Megapixel generates 13.5 hp power and 500Nm torque.The dimensions of the car are 3505mm length , 1673mm width and 1405mm height.
There has not been any official declaration about the price of Pixel but it is assumed to be between 5-6 lakhs considering the middle class buyers segment looking for a high mileage car.
