Renault to introduce new low-cost MPV car in Ertiga’s Segment

Renault Group, the owner of the car maker Renault India, has announced the upcoming plans in India. The Renault Group has unveiled the launch between 2017 and 2022. According to the company, four vehicles will be launched in India, and one of which will be compact MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) car.      

The French automaker will use the CMF-A platform in this MPV car. Renault has opted for low cost platform CMF-A for this vehicle which are currently used by Kwid and Datsun Redi-Go.Nissan in India also has 7-seater named Datsun Go+ built on Nissan V-platform. The Renault Group said in its statement, “We will launch this compact MPV car in the Indian market. This car will be 4- meter long, but will be able to carry many passengers.”  

Low-cost MPV to compete with Ertiga

At present, the MPV market of India is captured by Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova. To challenge the rival companies, Renault will offer new and premium features in this 4 – meter MPV car.  

Renault India is currently selling three models in India. These are – Kwid hatchback, Duster SUV and Lodgy MPV. Although, the Renault Lodgy MPV did not success to attract customers as compared to the Renault Kwid and the Renault Duster. 

In the next four launches of Renault, the Captur will be launched first in the market. At the same time, the launch of this compact MPV has also been fixed. Other two cars may be compact SUV and an electric Kwid.
