The Tata Bolt is a premium hatchback car produced by the Indian multinational automotive manufacturing corporation Tata Motors Limited. The Tata Bolt is based on the company’s X1 platform that underpins the Indica Vista hatchback, but, nonetheless, with an all new design and reworked mechanicals. The hatchback comes in eight versions with one transmission, two engine and two fuel options.
The price of the Tata Bolt begins from Rs 4.58 lakh and goes up to Rs 7.24 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi. The chief rivals of the Tata Bolt are the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10, Fiat Punto Evo, Nissan Micra, Ford Figo, Hyundai Elite i20, Chevrolet Sail and Renault Pulse.
ENGINE AND SPECIFICATIONS
The Tata Bolt comes in both petrol and diesel variants. The 1.2 litre, 1193 cc, four cylinder Revotron turbocharged Multi-point Fuel Injection (MPFi) petrol engine churns out 90 BHP of power at 5000 RPM and 140 Nm of peak torque at 1500 – 4000 RPM.
On the other hand, the 1.3 litre, 1248 cc, four cylinder Quadrajet diesel engine produces 75 BHP of power at 4000 RPM and 190 Nm of peak torque at 1750 – 3000 RPM. Both the engines are paired to a five speed manual transmission gearbox. The hatchback has a minimum turning radius of 5.1 metre.
The car reaches the 0 – 100 kmph mark in just 6.3 seconds with a top speed of around 140 – 160 kmph. As far as mileage is concerned, the petrol powered Tata Bolt delivers a mileage of 17.57 kmpl, whereas the diesel powered Tata Bolt gives an impressive mileage of 22.95kmpl. The Tata Bolt is fitted with a 44 litres of fuel tank capacity.
EXTERIOR
The Tata Bolt is a handsome looking car. The remarkable exterior features of the Tata Bolt include a new Tata signature front grille with the new Humanity Line, smoked projector headlamps for better illumination, body colour ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, matte black C-pillar, rear spoiler with an integrated high mount stop lamp, body colour outside door handles, sporty antenna at the front top, a rear automatic wiper and flame shaped tail lamps. In addition, the stylish 15 inch alloy wheels enhance the sporty appearance of the Tata Bolt.

The performance of the Tata Bolt is excellent. The steering of the car is light. Ride quality is also nice. Braking system of the Tata Bolt is formed by front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. Besides, the car is fitted with dual-path McPherson strut with coil spring and anti-roll bar suspension at the front and twist beam with coil spring and shock absorber suspension at the rear.
