In the meeting of GST Council on the 9th September, it was decided to increase 2 per cent cess on medium sized cars, 5 per cent cess on big cars and 7 per cent cess on SUV. After this, notified by the finance ministry, including GSAT, 45 per cent on the medium- sized cars, 48 per cent on big cars and 50 per cent on SUV increased.
In this scenario, car companies have started increasing the prices of their cars. After the Maruti, Honda and Hyundai, now Tata Motors has announced to increase the price of its cars.
Price of Tata Hexa is increased by Rs 96,000 :
Tata Motors has increased prices of Hexa and Safari Storme. Prices of Hexa have been increased by Rs 96,000. In this year, after the GST came into force, the company had cut prices of its models by Rs 3,300 to Rs 217,000 in July. But, by increasing GST cess, the company has announced to increase prices of its big cars and SUVs.
Price of Tata Safari Storme is increased by up to Rs 86,000 :
The price of Tata Safari Storme has been increased by up to Rs 86,000 according to the variant. After that, the prices of Safari Storme again crossed the figure of Rs 15 lakh.
On the other hand, prices of Nano, Zest, Tiago and Bolt have not affected. According to the company sources, price of the Tata Nexon will not affect too, and it will be sold at competitive prices.
