Tata Nano GenX launched in India – People’s Car becomes Smart city car !

Indian car major Tata Motors much-awaited Tata Nano – GenX has been launched in the Indian market. The initial price of the car has been kept at Rs 1.99 lakh (ExShowroom price, Delhi). However, the car’s automated manual transmission (EG shift) version will be available at Rs 2.69 lakh. The company claims that the maximum mileage for the manual model to be 25.3km / l, while the automated transmission models will give a mileage of 21.9km / l.

The new model better engine , cabin space and a larger fuel tank of 24 liters. Earlier model of Tata Nano had a fuel capacity of 15 liters. The two most significant changes in this new Nano model is automated manual transmission and the full opening of the rear gate of the Hatch (doors).

In terms of exterior design, the new model has smoke headlamps, alloy wheels, signature Tata grill and more boot space with 110 liters of luggage capacity.The steering wheel looks similar to Tata Zest.The car has been also been provided with front power windows and a four-speaker Amphistream music system.

Engine Features

The car’s MPFI Twin cylinder petrol version engine is similar to the old 624 cc model.Although some changes have been made like new  cylinder heads and almuniam blocks for the car’s smooth running.Nano GenX car’s maximum power output is 38 bhp and torque is 51 Nm.

Tata Motors Nano  is trying to resurrect its Nano brand with this launch. India’s cheapest car Nano’s old version did not get enticipated customer’s response.The company’s is now trying to project it as a Smart city car.With this car the company is trying to get rid of the tag, “lakhtakia car”, which has deterred Indians go with this car brand.
