Since July 1, GST (Goods and Services Tax) has been implemented in the country. Now, the car companies have reduced the ex – showroom prices of different models of cars by about Rs 3 lakh.
Since July 1, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Ford, Honda and Mahindra have reduced prices of cars between Rs 2,300 and Rs 3 lakh. There has also been a slight decrease in the wagering tax on most cars. However, it is not applied with hybrid cars. After GST, car companies are giving these offers.
Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki has cut prices of most of its cars by 3 percent with immediate effect. The company earlier sold Alto 800 to S Cross ranging from Rs 2.46 lakh to Rs 12.03 lakh. (ex-showroom).
Now, Alto has been reduced by Rs 2,300 to Rs 5,400, and the WagonR has been reduced by Rs 5,300 to Rs 8,300, while the price of Swift has been cut by Rs 6,700 to Rs 10,700.
The company has reduced Baleno prices by Rs 6,600 to Rs 13,000. Dzire prices have also been reduced by Rs 8,100 to Rs 15,100. Ertiga petrol prices are getting less than Rs 21,800, while Ciaz prices have been cut by Rs 21,300.
The price of compact SUV Vitara Brezza has also been reduced by Rs 10,400 to Rs 14,700. While the price of S cross has been cut by Rs 17,700 to Rs 21,300.
Tata
Tata has cut the prices of its passenger vehicles by up to Rs 2.17 lakh. According to the company, the prices of selected passenger vehicles have been reduced by Rs 3,300 to Rs 2.17 lakh for the benefit of the customers.
Honda
Honda has also cut the prices of its cars by about Rs 1.31 lakh. The company has reduced prices of its hatchback Brio by Rs 12,279, while the price of compact sedan Amaze has been cut by Rs 14,825.
The price of Jazz has been reduced by Rs 10,031, while the recently launched WR-V prices have come down to Rs 10,064.
Ford
Ford has cut prices of its cars by up to 4.5 percent. Although, low prices will be fixed according to different states. In Mumbai, the price of premium SUV Endeavour has been reduced by Rs 3 lakh.
