The American SUV manufacturer ‘Jeep’ has finally started its business in India with the launch of its iconic suv models Wrangler Unlimited and Grand Cherokee SRT.The 4-door Wrangler Unlimited has an Indian price tag of Rs 71,59,104 which is its least expensive model.The other ‘Jeep’s’ launched were ‘Cherokee Grand SRT’ (limited version) at RS 93,64,527 and premium Grand Cherokee Summit priced at RS 1,03,39,919.The 1,12,07,825 priced Grand Cherokee SRT was launched with a ultra powerful V8 engine.
Unlike a rugged terrain which is associated with the launch venue of these kind of tough off-road vehicles the venue was Umaid Bhavan Palace of Jodhpur to symbolize the power and luxury that this product offers.
The 4-cylinder Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has received a 2.8-litre engine that outputs 200bhp of peak power and produces 460Nm of torque.The diesel powered Grand Cherokee has got Turbo 3.0 litre engine producing 240bhp.The mileage it delivers it 12.8km/l.The top ‘Cherokee model’ in the segment has 6.4-litre Hemi V8 that gives 470bhp power.

These cars are being brought via CBU (Completely Built Up) route initially which means the car is completely imported to India from the country of USA.Fiat has said that it will invest RS 1,854 Crores for these brands at its Ranjangaon Plant in Pune.In the next half of 2017 the company will begin to assemble all these cars in India.
