Volkswagen is preparing to launch its new SUV – the Tiguan with fan fare. The Volkswagen Tiguan will be introduced in the Indian market soon. The production of this car has already started in at Aurangabad plant in Maharashtra.
Currently, the company is showing its presence through its premium models – the GTI, while other difference will be done through this premium SUV. At present, the popularity of SUV is increasing across the country and Volkswagen, too, wants to redeem this opportunity completely.
Leaked pictures suggest that the SUV will come equipped with infotainment and safety features. This time, Volkswagen is not going to give any Trendline trim. In the market, customer will get only two variants of the Volkswagen Tiguan – Comfortline and the top- model Highline.
In the Comfortline trim, features such as LED headlamps and DRL, 17- inch alloy wheels, LED tail- lamps, body coloured bumpers, electrically adjustable heated front seats, cruise control and paddle shifters will be provided to the customers. On the safety front, front and rear disc brakes, curtain and front airbags, ABS, ESC, rain sensors and park distance control will be offered as standard in both models.
While, the Highline variant will get – keyless entry with push- button start, 18- inch alloys, illuminated front scuff plates, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, easy open tailgate with delayed closing function and other safety features such as self- sealing tyres and reverse parking cameras – as an additional feature. Moreover, the Volkswagen Tiguan will come with five seats.
At the time of launch, Volkswagen will provide only one engine option in both these two cars – the 2.0- litre diesel engine that produces 143 HP of power. This engine will be paired to a seven- speed dual- clutch auto gearbox. And, all- wheel- drive system will also be standard. It is notable that Volkswagen first showcased this SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo.
