Mahindra Verito Vibe to take on Honda Amaze

Mahindra is scheduled to launch , next month , Verito Vibe – a new sub four meter car built on its successful Verito platform.The small cars lesser than 4 metre enjoy excise duty benefit. The name of the car ‘Vibe’ symbolises vinrant and socially aware youth which the car targets as customers.

The demand for entry-level sedans is rising amid low sales in other auto segments and this has resulted interest of the auto companies towards compact sedan. The sub 4 metre segment diesel car is expected to use 1.5-litre Renault K9K engine which produces 66PS+160Nm of torque and has five-speed manual gearbox.

The car undergoing , final tests at Chennai plant , is believed to be shorter than Verito and undergone improvements in aircon vents ,stalks and the upholstery.Verito Vibe will have to face competition from Honda Amaze , Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20 and VW Polo in this segment. On the other hand, Volkswagen is also working on a entry-level compact sedan betweeen Polo and Vento.
