Mahindra is scheduled to launch , next month , Verito Vibe – a new sub four meter car built on its successful Verito platform.The small cars lesser than 4 metre enjoy excise duty benefit. The name of the car ‘Vibe’ symbolises vinrant and socially aware youth which the car targets as customers.
The demand for entry-level sedans is rising amid low sales in other auto segments and this has resulted interest of the auto companies towards compact sedan. The sub 4 metre segment diesel car is expected to use 1.5-litre Renault K9K engine which produces 66PS+160Nm of torque and has five-speed manual gearbox.
The car is undergoing final tests Chennai plant is believed to be shorter than Verito and undergone improvements in aircon vents ,stalks and the upholstery.Verito Vibe will have to face competition from Honda Amaze , Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20 and VW Polo in this segment. On the other hand, Volkswagen is also working on a entry-level compact sedan betweeen Polo and Vento.
