Hyundai Creta

The sales figure of Hyundai’s compact SUV Creta has reached to 23,117 till September end. The vehicle is available between a price tag of Rs. 8.59 lac and Rs. 13.60 lac. The price is Ex-Showroom Delhi. Hyundai Creta competes against the likes of Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and Maruti S-Cross in the segment.

Hyundai Creta is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine develops 121bhp and 151Nm of torque whereas the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine churns out 126bhp and 259Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1.4-litre CRDi diesel unit develops 89bhp and 220Nm of torque. All engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission however, the 1.6-litre CRDi comes with also 6-speed automatic transmission. In terms of mileage, the 1.6 petrol gives 15.29 kmpl, the 1.4 diesel gives approximately 24.8 Kmpl while the 1.6-litre diesel engine gives a maximum mileage of 17.01kmpl.

On the safety front, the SUV offers dual airbags, impact sensing auto door unlock, comprise of immobilizer, electronic stability control with hill assist control, rear parking camera with guidelines and sensors and rear parking sensors. The Creta is available in 10 variants with 7 different colours – red passion, magic blue, polar white, sleek silver, pearl beige, stardust and phantom black shades.

Honda Jazz

Country’s fourth largest car manufacturer Honda Cars India Limited has revealed sales figure for the month of September 2015. According to the company, 19,178 units of Honda Jazz have been sold till September end. It is an increase of 23% in comparison to sales for the same month last year. The price of new Jazz ranges between Rs 5.30 lakh to Rs 8.59 lakh.

In fact, the all new Honda Jazz is crafted for maximum comfort and convenience. On the safety front, the all new Honda Jazz comes with a number of safety features such as dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, impact mitigating headrest and immobilizer anti-theft system. Besides, its ACE body structure and pedestrian injury mitigation technology minimize injuries in the event of a collision. No doubt, passengers can always feel secure wherever they go.

The new Jazz is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The company offers the popular 1.2-litrei-VTEC petrol and the new 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor. The former is available with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic whereas, the diesel car comes with a 6-speed manual. Here it is worth-mentioning that the petrol-powered model makes 90bhp of power and 110Nm of torque while the diesel model gives 100bhp of power and a 200Nm of torque.

In terms of features, Honda offers two different infotainment systems depending on the trim. The entry-level trims has a 5-inch display for the rear camera and audio system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity while the top-spec versions get a 6.2-inch touchscreen display with navigation and DVD playback functions.

Maruti S-Cross

Country’s largest carmaker Maruti has sold 9,715 units of  S-Cross till September end. It started off by selling 4,602 units in August. The S-Cross competes with the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Hyundai Creta in the compact SUV segment.

Maruti offers the S-Cross with the choice of two diesel engines. The 1.3-litre turbocharged DDiS 200 with the power rating of 90bhp and 200Nm of torque with a five-speed manual powering the front wheels. While the 1.6-litre turbocharged DDiS 320 produces 120bhp and 320Nm of torque mated to the six-speed manual transmission. In terms of mileage, the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 gives a mileage of 23.65kmpl whereas the 1.6-litre turbocharged DDiS 320 gives 22.70kmpl, both fuel efficiency are ARAI-certified.   

In terms of safety, the vehicle comes with several features such as a rear demister, anti theft security system, an immobilizer, dual horn and so on. The S-Cross is available in five colours – premium silver, urban blue, caffeine brown, granite grey and pearl artic white.

Figo Aspire

Ford India has sold 8,771 units of the Aspire till September end. The Figo Aspire is a compact sedan which competes with the Honda Amaze, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Tata Zest.

This compact sedan is available in diesel and petrol engine options. The 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine produces 99bhp and 215Nm of torque. It offers excellent fuel efficiency of 25.83 kmpl. As a matter of fact, presently this is the most powerful engine in the segment. On the other hand, its 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 88bhp and 112Nm of torque powering the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. It gives a mileage of 18.16 kmpl. Besides, the company also offers the dual-clutch automatic petrol version of the car. It comes with  1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 110bhp and 145Nm of torque. It gives fuel efficiency of 17 kmpl.

The vehicle is available in four trim levels – Trend, Ambiente, Titanium and Titanium Plus. The automatic is available exclusively in Titanium trim whereas, diesel and petrol variants are available in all four trim levels. The Figo Aspire is available in seven colours – oxford white, ruby red, sparkling gold, deep impact blue, tuxedo black, ingot silver and smoke grey.

Mahindra TUV300

Mahindra has sold 4,321 units of TUV300 till September end. The Mahindra TUV300 starts with a price tag of Rs. 698000 and goes up to Rs. 920000. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi. This compact SUV competes primarily with  the Ford EcoSport. Nevertheless the other rivals of the TUV300 are the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Renault Duster, Honda Mobilio and the Hyundai i20 Active.

The TUV300 comes only with the 1.5-litre mHawk 80 three-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. This is available with both- the five-speed manual and the five-speed AMT transmission. The manual produces 84bhp and 230Nm of torque whereas, the AMT produces 81bhp and 230Nm of torque. Obviously, the power is transferred to the rear wheels. The SUV gives a mileage of 18.49 kmpl, which is ARAI-certified, as the company claims.

On the safety front, the TUV300 is made from high strength steel which brings higher torsional rigidity for better impact absorption. In addition, the vehicle has basic safety features such as; seat belts, ABS with EBD, powerful headlamps, two front airbags, collapsible steering wheel, auto door lock while driving and side impact protection beams. On the plus side, the compact SUV has also a digital immobilizer which safeguards the vehicle from burglary.

The TUV300 is available in six colours – Dynamo Red, Verve Blue, Glacier White, Majestic Silver, Bold Black and Molten Orange.

Ford Figo

Ford Figo has sold 4,554 cars till September end. The price of the Ford Figo starts at Rs. 429,900 for petrol variant while diesel variant starts at Rs. 529,900. The Figo competes with 3 best hatchbacks in the country- the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Bolt and Hyundai Grand i10.

The Figo is available with two petrol and one diesel engine option. The 1.5-litre petrol with a dual-clutch transmission produces110bhp and 136Nm of torque. In fact, it is the most powerful in the segment. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre diesel produces 99bhp and 215Nm of torque. While the 1.2-litre petrol with a five-speed manual produces 87bhp and 112Nm of torque.

In terms of safety, the Figo hatchback comes with a number of features such as; ABS with EBD (= Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), six airbags, traction control, electronic stability control and hill start assist. Additionally, the vehicle also features engine immobilizer and driver seatbelt reminder.

The Figo hatchback is available in seven colours – sparkling gold, ruby red, tuxedo black, ingot silver, deep impact blue, oxford white and smoke grey.

Renault Kwid

The sales figure of Renault Kwid has reached to 381 till September end. Nonetheless, full-fledged deliveries of the cars started only in October. The vehicle is priced between Rs 2.56 lakh and Rs 3.53 lakh. The Renault Kwid competes with the Tata Nano, Hyundai Eon, Datsun Go and Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 in the small car segment.

The Renault Kwid is powered by a newly developed 799cc, 3-cylinder, DOHC petrol engine that produces around 53bhp and 72Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The company claims a class-leading fuel efficiency of 25.17 kmpl for the Kwid.

The Kwid comes with a number of features such as; 1-din audio system with Bluetooth, roof spoiler, power steering, driver-side ORVM, black front, Media Navigation Pack, rear bumpers, steel wheels, grey upholstery, Open glove-box, engine immobilizer, central-locking,  Front wiper and washer.

The Renault Kwid is available in 5 different colors- Fiery Red, Moonlight Silver, Planet Grey, Ice Cool White and Outback Bronze.
