Ford fiesta review

Ford Fiesta has been a popular car from Ford. Since the time it was first launched it has got many facelifts and makeovers. The Ford Fiesta Classic is an enhanced version of the old Ford Fiesta we all have known. But lately Ford has come up with an all new Ford Fiesta which has a completely different image from the Ford Fiesta Classic. It’s a classy looking, fierce and aggressive sedan that will just sweep you off your feet by its looks! So let’s move on to the sections ahead to know more about the Ford Fiesta sedan.

Engine and Technical specifications

The Ford Fiesta comes in both petrol and diesel variants. The diesel engine is the 1498cc 1.5 litre TDCi one that gives a maximum power of 90 Bhp at 3750 rpm and peak torque of 204 Nm at 2000-2750 rpm. The petrol variant has got a 1499cc 1.5 litre Ti-VT engine which develops 109 PS of maximum power at 6045 rpm and 140 Nm of peak torque at 4500 rpm. In power the new Ford Fiesta beats Maruti Swift Dzire diesel way behind. The fuel tank has got a capacity of 43 litres.

The gearbox of this car which is the dual clutch auto one, by using dry clutch system helps reduce about 13 kgs of the total car weight eventually giving off better mileage. The turning radius of this sedan is 5.2 metres and the weight varies between 1117 kgs and 1157 kgs depending on the variant. Fiesta measures 1722mm in width, 4291mm in length and 1496mm in height. The wheelbase of this car is a good 2498mm. The tubeless tyre size in this car is 195/60 R15. There are ventilated disc brakes in the front and self-adjusting drum brakes at the rear.

Exterior design

The new Ford Fiesta sedan makes a statement with its looks. Its road presence is enormous and its aggressive stance will appeal you no bounds! The colours in which this sedan is available are panther black, chill metallic, squeeze, moon dust silver, diamond white, sea grey and kinetic blue. The exterior of the new Fiesta are curvy and bold. The prominent wheel arches and the well sculpted body sports a clamshell bonnet and clear, vivid and bold lines that look stunning altogether. They fox eyed headlamps and its elongated shape from the front gives the car an aggressive stance.

The Ford logo has been placed at a little lower height than the Ford Fiesta Classic. The Titanium and Titanium Plus variants have got two fog lamps too in the front integrated in the bumpers of the car. The bumpers, door handles, rear view mirrors are all body coloured. As you go one to look at its beautiful aerodynamic side body you will notice the new beautifully designed turn indicators integrated rear view mirrors. They add to its classy feel. The antenna on the roof gives the aerodynamic look of the car more beauty.

Interiors

As you step inside you will witness a magnificent cabin. Space is generously provided everywhere inside. The LED multi-function display on the dashboard, the speech module controlling of the climate control and cruise control are some of the amazing features you will witness inside. The seating arrangement is such that 5 people together can happily and comfortably enjoy a long distance journey. There is an option of personalising the cabin in oceanic blue and plum red colour. An audio player with AM/FM Radio, CD, MP3 player options is given in the car. The trip meter, odometer, average speed, distance all are displayed in the 3.5 inch red coloured high resolution screen. The gear shift knob too has a beautiful design to appeal one and all. The legroom, headroom and shoulder room are pretty decent both at the rear and in front. There are some amazing safety features given in the new Ford Fiesta. They are door ajar warning, passenger and driver airbag, day and night rear view mirror, rear seat belts, xenon headlamps, ESP, ABS, EBD, side and front impact beams, keyless entry, hill launch assist, crash sensor, engine check warning, centrally mounted fuel tank, traction control, anti-theft alarm, child safety locks, central locking, power door locks and much more!

Performance

The noise, harshness and vibrations have been controlled in the new Ford Fiesta to the hilt. The cabin is evidently very quiet. The suspensions and brakes together put up a fantastic job. The new Fiesta gives a supreme quality driving and handling experience. If you want to play around with car in an adventurous manner, this sedan is going to live up to your expectations. The petrol engine of the car delivers a mileage of 12.5 kmpl and the automatic petrol car gives an unbelievable mileage of 16.97 kmpl! The diesel engine proves its efficiency at 17 kmpl which is again good.

Verdict

Priced between 7.23 lacs to 9.99 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi), the new Ford Fiesta may look pricey but has got some great features to boast off. Our advice to you if you are already taken aback by its price, just test drive to feel its power packed performance and you may end up buying it!
